Brett wins Ready, Steady, Cook challenge for Charlestown Youth Football Club!
The evening, supported by St Austell Brewery, was organised by Charlestown Youth Football Club with the aim of promoting healthy eating to the youth team, their parents and St Austell College students. Phil Dingle, Coach of Charlestown Youth Football Club said: “We planned the evening to be both entertaining and educational. We want to encourage the use of local produce and healthy eating – especially amongst our young players.
“With the help of St Austell Brewery and Plymouth Argyle this event enabled us to highlight the importance of eating well using great quality local produce. The Argyle players are a great example to the youth team and I’m delighted that they took part. It was great fun.”
Itallian chef, Pier Palena from St Austell Brewery’s Sharksfin in Mevagissey and Brett Camborne-Paynter from the newly opened Austell’s Restaurant in Carlyon Bay had one hour to create a mouth watering three course meal from secret ingredients supplied in their mystery bag. Both chefs had help from their Plymouth Argyle commis chefs in conjuring up a delicious and creative feast that both inspired and satisfied the expectations of the supporters. All of the food was provided by St Austell Brewery suppliers and included some of the very best locally sourced specialities.
